Leaders
While in the mission stage, we have a steering committee appointed by our Bishop to direct our development. It is made up of the charter members of our fellowship. When we reach the appropriate size, we will be granted permission by the Bishop to be governed by a Vestry, which will be elected by the congregation according to scriptural guidelines.
Our Clergy
Our pastor at Christ's Chapel is the Reverend Deacon Randall Pierpoint.
Reverend Pierpoint was raised in Oregon. He earned a Bachelor of Arts
in Chemistry from the University of Oregon, where he met his wife, Karen.
He taught high school chemistry and math before joining the staff of
Campus Crusade for Christ, where he served as national training director
for the International Student Ministry. He worked on the campuses of
UCLA, the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana, and UC Berkeley.
He graduated from the Institute of Biblical Studies. He then entered
missionary pastoral work serving in rural California with Village Missions
for 15 years. Since he and Karen had four children, Christian education
had a special place in his heart. Returning to urban life as his children
began entering college, he taught chemistry at Whittier Christian High
School for eleven years. The Pierpoints first became acquainted with
the Reformed Episcopal denomination in 1992. Reverend Pierpoint served
as Senior Warden and then as a Lay Assistant at St. Luke's Reformed Episcopal
Church in Santa Ana, California before being ordained Deacon in 2002.
Reverend Pierpoint and his wife, Karen, have been married since 1966 and have four married children with families of their own. Family ministry has been an important emphasis for the Pierpoints, and they look forward to encouraging and equipping parents to build godly families as Christ's Chapel grows.
