As a mission, Christ’s Chapel has begun with the basic three essential ministries: the preaching of God’s Word, the provision of Holy Communion, and unity in prayer. All of us are vital to these three ministries as we worship and fellowship together.
We are seeking to provide a place where both families and singles can encourage each other in love and good works without becoming fragmented by programs that divide the fellowship into exhausted compartments. We seek to encourage ministering to each other across the life span, where the younger believers can learn from experienced elders. Children worship with their parents. All ages are important.
Our meeting place is kept in good order and repair by the Facilities Team.
Holy Communion is prepared, the Communion linens cared for, flowers for the table provided, and the seasonal banners and coverings are selected, through the ministry of the Altar Guild.
Each Sunday, we have a Friendship Hour immediately following the service, where snacks and beverages are provided so that we can enjoy conversation with visitors and get to know each other better. This ministry is provided by the Hospitality Team.
As we grow, we are looking for ways to reach out to the wider community as well as providing additional opportunities for increasing spiritual growth in our members. Home Bible studies are one way of doing this. The Women’s Autumn Tea is another example.
We are seeking to fulfill Christ’s Great Commission in a Great Commandment way:
“You shall love the Lord thy God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” (Matthew 22:37-39 NKJV)
“Go, therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you;” (Matthew 28:19-20 NKJV)
